I have a Master of Arts in Teaching Foreign Languages (Major Spanish)
I don’t recommend it when it’s used as for sentences because it makes sense only if you know the context. it can be used for individual words only. I recommend an App "i-translate" it was better years ago now it requieres payment to work better, but it still good.

Hi Ethan! Google translate tends to be tricky when it comes to sentence construction: it translates each term in a sentence very literally, so the sentence may not make sense grammatically in Spanish. It can be a good tool to translate individual words, but I would recommend SpanishDict for that instead. SpanishDict also doesn't form sentences, but it gives various translations for one word as well as examples. This helps ensure you have the right meaning for the word you translate, as well as how to use it. Hope this helped!
