How many sides does the figure in question have?
Here are the different formulas for finding the perimeters of different polygons/geometric shapes:
Square: P = 4a (with unknown variable 'a' equaling the equal length of all four sides of the square itself)
Rectangle: P = 2(l + w) [with side 'l' equaling the length and side 'w' equaling the width of the rectangle]
Triangle: P = a + b + c (with unknown variables 'a', 'b', and 'c' each corresponding to the different lengths of the three different sides of the triangle itself)
**For shapes containing 5 or more sides, simply multiply the given number of sides on that given shape by unknown variable 'a' to find the perimeter of that particular polygon.**
