A car is traveling at a steady speed of 75 m/s and its velocity changes to 95 m/s in 10 s. What is its acceleration?
Acceleration is defined as the change in velocity/speed over the change in time.
- Change in Speed: 75-95 = -20m/s
- Change in Time: 10s
-20m/s / 10s = -2 m/s2
This just means for every second the car is slowing down 2 m/s.
