Summary: Many of us know about the prevalence of so-called personality tests found on the Internet. I invite you to find, take, and evaluate some of these “personality tests”, typically found through social media. For example: You can go to (http://www.personalitylab.org/tests/bfi_sims.htm), try The Sims Personality TestTime: 15–20 minutes to find and take popular online personality tests.Step 1: I would like to invite you to search for the most outrageous personality tests you can find on the Internet (i.e., “What kind of cake are you?” –Yes, it exists). Take some of the tests if you have not yet!) and share your experience in an initial post by clicking “Create Thread” (10 points)Step 2: After clicking “Create Thread,” please enter the title of the test in the Subject Line (use descriptive words, e.g., what color are you or what animal are you!) Discuss all the following questions in your initial post and responsive posts:
Considering your chosen tests, what do you think about the results, personally and broadly, as a measure of personality?
Is there any validity to the tests, or are there just for entertainment purposes?
Have you ever found personality tests through social media that try to appear more legitimate? How was it?
What are some issues with these types of tests? Are they harming anyone?

I designed weekly discussions to help you apply theories and new Cyber concepts to you personally. This week's discussion assignment is self-paced; generally, it is up to you to decide how much time and effort you want to invest. Some weeks may need more time and effort to be completed. For example, you need at least one week to create a digital diet diary for yourself and discuss and reflect on your experience. Weekly topics encourage you to learn more about your patterns of technology use; understand certain strategies that you use in your computer-mediated communications (CMC); more importantly, make your usage/online interactions more mindful, meaningful, and ultimately and hopefully in moderation! You are required to reflect on your experience in an assigned discussion forum (only one post is needed; 30 points.)
Step 1: Keep a journal for at least one whole week, including one weekend. I encourage you to at least put one weekend in your diary.
Step 2: Watch the two videos below by Dr. Jocelyn Brewer on what Digital Diet is and How you can positively shape your tech habits and your "digital nutrition"?
https://youtu.be/LVafyZzu0Lw
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-Pyr2t9RZY
Step 3: Post a picture of your diary or copy and paste your table into your post, including dates, websites you visited, and at least one main motivation, such as entertainment, education, banking, shopping, etc.
Step 4: Reflect on your experience and what you learn from the two videos by Dr. Jocelyn Brewer on what Digital Diet is. Your diary can be a paper or a digital copy. Keep a log of how long you spend on each activity, where, why, etc. Consider all of the questions below in your discussion posts. You must write at least three paragraphs with specific examples.
What websites do you visit? For what reasons?
What social media do you use? How much time per week?
What other communication technologies do you employ?
What was the goal/ motivation of each activity?
Try to determine how you would achieve these goals if Internet technologies didn't exist.
How were similar goals achieved before the Internet was invented?
Do you think you can possibly be addicted to any online activities or online platforms?
How can you positively shape your tech habits? What are the three M's of a healthy digital diet?
