Animal fat isn't the prefered oil base for painting because it never dries, could melt right off in the heat, and it'll stink. Linseed oil (cold pressed) is the standard or safflower oil if you want a smoother and easier to blend paint. What are you making? Animal fats are great for making body and hair care. Unless you're doing historical reinactment of art pre 1000 AD, linseed and safflower were the original mixing oils. A few painters did use eggs which would technically be a guache paint.

It might not smell but it would never 'dry'. And it could flake in too cold of a temp09/16/22

so technically speaking if the said art was kept in cold temperatures 4-1oC it will preserve? or we could assume the whole art must freeze to not emit any smell? It's just a theoretical assumption based on what you write. Also thanks for responding.09/16/22
