JSTOR is free and offers tons of articles on social media and how it impacts politics, interpersonal relationships, personal behavior, and government outreach. ( "Advocacy 2.0: An Analysis of How Advocacy Groups in the United States Perceive and Use Social Media as Tools for Facilitating Civic Engagement and Collective Action," " SOCIAL NETWORKS, SOCIAL MEDIA, AND SOCIAL DISEASES", or "Conclusion: why do they love social media?" for example.)
If you don't want to look up articles to reference, stick to "common knowledge." Social media has impacted teenage and adults through FOMO (fear of missing out) aka mindless scrolling; it is also linked to depression and anxiety, increased body dysmorphia due to filters, and physical issues such as bad posture/text neck and eye strain.
