I am taking a trip to Japan next year and I need help understanding when I’ll arrive.

Question: If I fly from Utah to Japan, with a flight duration of 14 hours as well as a time difference of 15 hours ahead, what is the time of arrival compared to departure? Please include an example and difference of week days. Also, how will time change back returning to Utah?

Leave Florida at 3pm and land in Alabama 2 hours later, it's 4pm when you arrive

Alabama has central time zone. Florida eastern time zone

one hour time difference, with 1+1 time flying, you arrive 1 hour later than you left

on your return trip, you leave Alabama at 8pm with 2 hours flying, you arive at 11pm (2 +1 =3 +8pm)

15 hour time difference with 14 hours flying, you arrive 1 hour earlier than you left

leave Utah at 3pm, arrive in Japan at 2pm but on a day later due to the International date line

as you cross it from east to west

leave Utah 3pm Monday, arrive 2pm Tuesday in Japan

on the return trip, you arrive 14+15 = 29 hours later than you left (minus one day)

leave Japan at 2pm Monday, arrive in Utah at 7pm seemingly on Tuesday, but the international date line

makes your arrival at 7pm Monday, just 5 hours after you left Japan

as you cross the international date line, from west to east, you go back one day
