7th grade math is usually prealgebra or algebra I, where you start using letters as variable or constant numbers
or for most people just last your last arithemetic courses before merging into algebra. But lately, common core seems to have moved more advanced math into earlier grades.
7th grade is right before 8th grade, unless you're fictional Cal Tech theoretical physicist Prof. Sheldon Cooper at a younger age, who jumps a few grades, up from 7th to 9th or 10th grade. From an episode of TV's Big Bang show
