A die has six sides. You can only create the sum of two by landing on 1 twice.

Roll#1: 1/6 you have a one out of six chance of landing on a one

Roll#2: 1/6 same probability

Now, multiply the two fractions, 1/6 *1/6= 1/36

You have a 1/36 chance of rolling a sum of two.
