This is true. Like the Indigenous Empires in Central and South America, their North American counterparts had large urban settlements and expansive trade networks. One such settlement is Cahokia of present-day Illinois. It once had a comparable population to that of London. Another group was the Anceint Pueblo (commonly but not appropriately referred to as the Anasazi) of present-day New Mexico. A lot of evidence of these urban areas have been either lost to time or colonialism, however, they existed and had large impacts on American history specifically during the Pre-Colombian era.
