A large pizza with two toppings at Leo's costs $19.50. A large pizza with two toppings at Domino's costs $18.50. The pizza at Ledo's is rectangular in shape and has dimensions 18 inches by 20 inches. The pizza at Domino's is circular and has a diameter of 20 inches. Determine which pizza is the better value based on how much pizza you get per dollar spent. Justify your reasoning

At Ledo’s you pay $19.50 for an area of 360 inches squared (18x20). At Domino’s, you pay $18.50 for approximately 314 square inches (10 squared x pi (3.14)). I used pi x radius squared (since the diameter is 20, the radius is 10). To get the cost per square inch for both pizzas, we divide the cost of each pizza by its square inches. For Ledo’s, it’s about .0542 cost per square inch. For Domino’s, it’s about .0588 cost per square inch. So per unit cost, you would get a better deal with Ledo’s.
