asked 02/16/22Math Help - z-score
A random experiment involves drawing a sample of 12 data values from a normally distributed population. The random variable is the z-score of the maximum of the data set.
| 27 | 30 | 30 | 33 |
| 34 | 35 | 37 | 38 |
| 39 | 40 | 44 | 45 |
Give the random variable. (Appropriate rounding rules still apply.)
❌ r.v. = _45_

I noticed it said z-score, but from what I've read in our textbook it's not something I'm familiar with, so I'm not quite sure how to approach this problem. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you so much for your time.

Need a math tutor? I am a local Albany State Univ. math tutor
z score = (x - mean)/standard deviation where x here would be 45
mean= 36
standard deviation=5.57
plug these value into the above equation to find your z-score

z score = (x - mean)/standard deviation where x here would be 45, the maximum value in the data set and the mean and standard deviation are that of the population. Are you given those values?02/16/22
