Mish L.,
You could get all fancy and start throwing Stokes' Theorem around here, but I suspect you're better off drawing a sketch, as a Venn Diagram showing the various conditions of housing as discrete or overlapping areas, whichever applies. Thus, start with all houses as the surrounding area; place the houses with attached garages and houses with unattached garages as separate areas within that (note that 35% have no garage!), then start sketching in the other conditionals. The 50% value shows you that 50% of the home theater overlaps the attached garage; since home theater totaled 18% that overlap is then 9% absolute. However 20% of the detached-garage houses also have a home theater. transform that last datum into a real quantity: 20% of 25% therefore have both detached+theater=12.5% absolute. Now go back and assign absolute quantities to: attached but no theater, and detached but no theater (you can calculate that as 80%*25%=20%). If there are other categories still loose there, calculate them also. Then go answer the question bank.
So in summary, Mish L., your job is to completely assign the respective category numbers on a problem like this, and ONLY THEN consider the specific questions. Otherwise, you will go n_u_t_s trying to trace logical connections.
