Here is a drawing showing the terminal side landing on the point (-4,3) where -4 is the x-value and 3 is the y-value:
First, you'd want to find the side r, the hypotenuse of the right triangle (Hint: Pythagorean theorem)
Once you find it, you can then use the definitions of sine, cosine and tangent to find them for angle θ:
- sin θ = opposite/hypotenuse = y/r
- cos θ = adjacent/hypotenuse = x/r
- tan θ = opposite/adjacent = y/x
Remember: x = -4, y = 3, and once you find r as mentioned earlier, plug them where applicable in the previous 3 formulas and you'll easily solve this problem. You got this!
