If (x2-bx -c)/(x+b) = x-6, then x2-bx -c = (x-6)(x+b) = x2 +(b-6)x - 6b.
Therefore, -b = b-6. Adding b and subtracting 6 at both sides we get 6 = 2b, so b=3.
