I’m so grateful to have Victor for my tutor. I worked with a few other folks who were great but Victor is simply extraordinary. I came to him looking for help with differential equations. The truth was that I didn’t know what I needed — and that’s where Victor really shines. It turned out I needed to go back and (re-)learn linear algebra from the start. He was able to guide my learning every step of the way. Even when I ask the same question for the 10th time! He’s incredibly knowledgeable but he’s also extremely patient. We went through most of linear algebra multiple times and it really clicks now. This has unlocked so much for me in my math studies. He’s also extremely skilled with the platform and tools (sketching images, graphing things in Desmos, pulling up examples in Wolfram Alpha) to show things in multiple creative ways until the ideas become clear. Not only that, he’s also game for whatever random math topic you throw at him — differentiation / integrals, linear algebra, trig, complex numbers, vector calculus, multivariate calculus, ODE’s and PDE’s, Fourier analysis, real analysis, group theory, topology, algebraic topology — the list goes on.. He has the uncanny ability to recall with precision every math concept, theorem, definition, topic or mathematician you ask about. He also has incredible recall of all the material we’ve gone over which allows you to connect the dots to what you’ve covered and learned together. But above all the thing that’s best about Victor is the clear joy he has in learning and teaching math. He loves to tell the stories of great mathematicians, the origin of ideas, the controversies behind the numbers. And that truly brings things alive.
