=8sqr2 +5sqr2 + 12sqr2

=(8+5+12)sqr2

= 25sqr2 cm

= about 25(1.414) = about 35.36 cm

or you could work it another way, converting to decimals for each term, then sum them, use a calculator with a square root function

4sqr8 + 5sqr2 + 4sqr18

=4(2.828) + 5(1.414) + 4(4.243

= 11.314 + 7.071 + 16.971 = 35.356 = about 35.36 cm

but the exact solution is 25sqr2 cm
