Can writing be fun?

Absolutely! I write children's books and I love to take an animal and give it some ability it could not possibly have. For example, an octopus who wants to play tennis on a floating tennis court. He will need two tennis shoes and 6 racquets. How about a pair of little Tamarin monkeys who play dueling pianos in the jungle? Can you imagine the trouble they cause? LOL Let you imagination soar---with creative writing, there are no limits. Have fun! :)

Absolutely! While not all the writing a student will do will be fun, there is a forum for creativity that might be more pleasurable. Let your imagination run wild. What do you call that white liquid you pour on your cereal in the morning? Milk? Why milk? It should be Cow Juice! I mean, what do you get from apples? Apple Juice, right? What do you get from oranges? Orange Juice, right? So what do you get from cows? Cow Juice! You have to squeeze cow, right? Have some fun with words!!

Also, for what it's worth, because I could write, I got paid for 33 years to watch baseball and football games! I was a newspaper sports writer who covered the Boston Red Sox on a daily basis. I got to go to World Series and Super Bowls. And I didn't just get to go -- I got PAID to go! Because I could WRITE! Just saying!

Yes--when you text your friend a great joke or post an idea on your favorite Reddit forum or write an Instagram caption the uses the perfect pun or write a story about your favorite childhood pet solving a crime, these are all forms of writing. Many people, depending on their interests, use writing in fun ways every day.

Often, we are asked to write specific things in school that don't feel fun. Maybe because we don't feel confident to answer the question or address the prompt provided. Or maybe the writing doesn't feel fun because we feel overwhelmed about where to start. It can be more difficult to want to write when it doesn't feel fun.

Even if a writing assignment doesn't feel fun, it can feel SATISFYING. If we start writing even if it feels overwhelming, we may surprise ourselves with what we know. If we get help to break a writing assignment into smaller steps, we may be able to finish a it and feel so proud for not giving up. Great tutors can help you to figure out how to both recognize the ways in which you may write for fun AND help you figure out how to write in such a way that you can feel proud and accomplished with your work.

For Example. If you like pets, you can write about them. You can write about your favorite holidays.

Whatever makes you feel delighted you enjoy and writing will be more interesting.
