Homeostasis, in simple terms, is something your body does to reach a goal that is beneficial for your body. The simplest example is temperature. Your body always wants to stay at a temperature of around 98 degrees Fahrenheit.
If your body gets too cold, your brain senses this change in temperature and sends signals out to the rest of your body to help increase the temperature. If it is too warm, your brain tells your body to decrease the temperature.
A more advanced situation is how your body maintains glucose at a steady level. Can you think of which organ(s) play a role in glucose homeostasis?
