Question

Rianne draws two points, one at (− 8 √3, 8) and the other at (4, 4√3). She then draws line segments from the origin to each point. Using radian measure for all angles, find the exact value for the size of the smaller angle between the two lines Rianne has drawn. Determine without the use of a calculator. Include a diagram in your solution.

After you sketch this out, consult the unit circle to see that the first angle is 5π/6 and the other is π/3. So the angle between the two lines is the difference 5π/6 - π/3 = π/2.
