Emily, the marks on the sides of the triangle tell you which sides are equal, so q#15 is an equilateral triangle--no need for algebra, all angles are 60 degrees.
For q#16, you have an isosceles triangle where "x" is one of the equal angles and you have a "linear pair" (angles which form a line) so those "linear pair" angles must add to 180 degrees, with one angle given as 142 degrees.
