Setting Quadratics to zero

My teacher assigned delta math and I'm not sure which side do I set to zero; how can I easily tell?

Philip P.

A quadratic is typically of the form y = ax^2 + bx + c. Set the y = 0 so it becomes 0 = ax^2 + bx + c. The y-value is zero at the x-intercepts, the places where the graph crosses the x-axis.
