vf2 = vi2 + 2gh where vf is the final velocity, vi is the initial velocity (in this case zero), g = -9.8 m/s2 (the acceleration due to gravity), and h is the height (but it will be negative since the object is falling down away from the starting position). So:
vf2 = 02 + 2(-9.8)(-140)
vf = √2744
vf = 52.38 m/s
