There are six equilateral triangles on the outside of a regular hexagon in this diagram. Equilateral triangles have three equal sides and three equal angles. Every triangle on a plane has interior angles that add to 180o.
Name the value of an angle in an equilateral triangle x. Three angles gives us the equation 3x=180. Divide both sides by three to get x=60o.
