I need help with algebraic expressions!

One of the problems with my homework that could bring my grade up tremendously is "the total for parking and an admission ticket". I just need someone to help explain how to work algebraic expressions. If you can help me please answer the question then type a tutor you would suggest for 8th Grade Pre-algebra.

Although you really need to provide more info to get help with the problem. I give it a shot by telling you to replace the variables I use for 2 prices with the actual prices of the ticket:

Let x= cost of parking, and y= the price of a ticket, if you need to calculate the total cost, then you just need to add the 2 prices: x+y= total cost. That's the best I can do with the info you provided.
