6g - 5 + 4g = 5 - 10(g + 2) solve for g
Inside the parenthesis needs to be done first
6g - 5 + 4g = 5 - 10g - 20
Next all unknowns need to be left on the left side of the equation
6g + 4g + 10g = 5 - 20 + 5
Next just do the operations
20g = - 10
To leave g alone, I need to divide both sides by 20
20g = - 10 On the left side of the equation, 20's will cancel each other out because 20 divided by 20 is
20 20 one whole, on the right side of the equation cross out zeros and answer will be - 1

Correct answer is C
Solution:
6g-5 +4g =5 -10(g +2) , Expand and remove parenthesis
6g - 5 + 4g = 5 - 10g - 20, Add like terms
10g - 5 = -15 - 10 g , add -10 g to both sides of the equation
10g -10g -5 = -15 -1og -10g, add like terms
-5 = -15 - 20g, add +15 to both sides of the equation
-5 + 15 = -15 + 15 -20g, add like terms
+10 = -20g, divide both sides by -20
+10/ -20 = -20g / -20, simplify
-1/2 = g , or g = -1/2 answer is C
Check: substitute g = -1/2 into equation and equate both sides. They must be equal
6g-5 +4g =5 -10(g +2), 10g - 5 = 5 - 10g - 20 , 10( -1/2) -5 = -15 -10(-1/2), -5-5 = -15+5, -10 = -10 checks
