A camera regularly priced at $310 was placed on sale for 20% off. When the camera still did not sell, the sale price was reduced 25% for clearance. What was the clearance price of the camera?

My brother and I got (B), would this be correct?

(0.80)(310) = 248 price after first reduction

25% off means 75% of price remained

(0.75)(248) = 186

20% = 1/5, so $310 * 1/5 = $62. $310 - $62 = $248. $248 was the first sale price. 25% = 1/4, so $248 * 1/4 = $62. $248 - $62 = $186. The clearance price of the camera was $186.00.
