Ovulation refers to the physiological process of releasing an oocyte from the ovary and it's subsequent travel into the Fallopian tubes, sometimes referred to as oviducts. Upon ovulation, an oocyte is only able to survive independently without being fertilized for approximately 24 hours. Spermatozoa, on the other hand, are able to survive in the female reproductive tract for up to 5 days without encountering an oocyte within the Fallopian tubes. During intercourse, spermatozoa enter the vagina canal and begin their journey to the Fallopian tubes.
This question is essentially asking how long a male gamete is able to survive in the female reproductive tract after intercourse, and how long an oocyte will survive independently after ovulation. Therefore, D appears to provide a window closest to the lifecycles of male and female gametes.

Hey there Sagar, So what it seems this question is asking is for the timeframe in which a woman is able to become pregnant through intercourse. When a biological female ovulates (only 1 egg per month!) the egg is viable for ~24 hours. In contrast, sperm is viable for up to five days! As long as intercourse occurs within a timeframe that the egg is still viable and viable sperm is present, there is a chance of fertilization and later pregnancy!08/07/21
