If I stop seeing a student for a period, but that student wants sessions at a later time. Do I still have to submit hours or work on the wyzant platform?

If you stop seeing the student, then resume lessons with him or her, that student was still acquired through Wyzant. Even though you are an Independent Contractor, they got to you by using Wyzant's Platform. I would highly discourage you from stealing these clients, as you may still be discharged as a tutor for Wyzant.
