Solution:
j(x) = 6x4 + 2x3 -4x +4 , find j(2) =? , all you have to do is substitute 2 for x
j(2) = 6(2)4 + 2(2)3 -4(2) + 4 = 6( 16) + 2(8) -4(2) + 4 = 96+16-8+4 = 108. So the value of the function j(x) is 108 when x=2 , and x = 2 has one and only one value for j(x) and that value is 108
