There is not a lot of simplification that can occur here, unless they are asking you to p[rovide the answer in factored form, but it's pretty easy to show.
I'm assuming that a is either a constant or a separate variable. I can't tell if it's in the superscript or not, so I'll do it both ways.
v3(3v5+v5a)
v3(3v5) + v3(v5a)
3v8 + av8
...which can be factored to (3+a)v8
If the a is part of the superscript, then it works like this...
v3(3v5+v5a)
v3(3v5) + v3(v5a)
3v8 + v(5a+3)
