1. Travis Is roling a fair numer cube with faces numbered cube with faces  numbered 1 through 6 . What is the probability that the result on his roll will be an odd number?

Answer 1

If Travis has an honest cube, then there will be 3 faces with an odd number, and 3 faces with an even number.

 

On a given roll, since there are 6 faces, the chances are 3/6 x 100% = 50% that an odd number will result.

 

As each roll will have a result that will be independent of the prior results, each roll will have the same chance.
