Consider the equation      2 C2H6 +  7 O2 --->  4 CO2 +  6H2O

How many grams of H2O are produced from 268.5 grams of C2H6 ?

Yes ofcourse. This is a dimensional analysis problem. So step 1, I started with the given value: 268.5 g C2H6. I then found the molar mass which is 30.07 g C2H6 = 1 mol C2H6. Then, I used the molar ratio to get the moles of H2O which is that 2 mol C2H6 = 6 mol H2O. I get this from the balanced equation. Then I find the molar mass of H2O so I can convert from moles to grams which is that 1 mol H2O = 18 g H2O. That’s the set up for the dimensional analysis.
