I've already asked this question, but I didn't get a good answer. Can someone please help me understand this? I've been stuck on this problem for a pretty long time.

Question:

What is the lateral area, in square inches, of the regular triangular prism? The length (points C and C) is 16 inches. The side length (points B and C) is 6 inches.

The lateral area is base perimeter * height.

Since it is a regular triangle prism, all sides of the triangular base are equal. Since side BC is 6, all 3 sides are 6 and the perimeter is 3 * 6 = 18.

The height (CC) is given as 16.

Plugging these value into the formula:

lateral area = 18 * 16 = 288 square inches

A regular triangle has all sides equal.

AB = 6, AC = 6, BC = 6.

There are three lateral faces each of them is 16 x 6.
