Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
x^2 +6x + y + k = 0
3x + y + k = 0
plug in (-3,2) or x=-3, y=2
(-3)^2 + 6(-3) + (2) + k =0
9-18+2 + k = 0
k=18-11= 7
k = 7
3(-3) +2 + k=0
-9+2 + k=0
k = 7
3x+y = -7
x^2 +6x +y = -7
subtract 1st from 2nd to eliminate y
x^2 +3x = 0
x(x+3)=0
x = 0, -3
plug 0 into the equations to solve for y
y=-7
(0,-7) and (-3,2) are two solutions
