A train leaves a station and travels north at a speed of 50mph. Five hours later, a second train leaves on a parallel track and travels north at 175mph. How far from the station will they meet

50T= 175(T-5)

50T = 175T - 875

175T-50T =875

125T = 875

T = 875/125 = 7 hours from when the 1st train left is when they meet

50 x 7 = 350 miles

175(7-5) = 175(2) = 350 miles
