When we're calculating odds, the first thing that we want to do is add up all the items. So 4 bananas, 3 apples, 8 oranges, and 1 grapefruit equals 16.
4 + 3 + 8 + 1 =16.
Next, since we're looking for the probability of drawing a banana specifically, we'll divide the total number of items to the total amount of bananas. There were 16 total items and of that 16, 4 were bananas.
4 bananas / 16 total items = 0.25%
There is a 25% chance of pulling a Banana out of the fridge!
