2, 3/2, 4/3, 5/4,...........

a) Write down the n th term, in terms of n.

b) Is the 229/227 number in this sequence? Explain your answer.

2/1, 3/2, 4/3, ...(n+1)/n or 1+1/n

the denominator = the numerator minus one

229/227 is not in the sequence.

229/228 is, 228/227 is. but 229 is not one more than 227, so 229/227 cannot be in the sequence
