b)The rest of the garden, apart from the pond and the path, is covered by grass. Work out the area covered by grass.

area of pond = pi(1.5)^2 = 2.25pi

area of path = area of path+pond minus area of pond = 4pi-2.25pi = 1.75pi

6x12 = 72

72-4pi = area of grass

1.75pi = about 5.5 square meters = area of path

72-4pi = about 59.4 square meters = area of grass
