sum of interior angles = 1080 degrees
one angle = 1080/8 = 135 degrees
construct a right triangle with hypotenuse = 13.5 and sides 13.5/sqr2
distance from one side to the other = 13.5 + 2(13.5)/sqr2 = 13.5 +13.5(sqr2) = (1+sqr2)(13.5 = about 32.6 feet
