My guess is that you just didn't look up all the vocabulary. That makes anyone nervous :)

I think you should draw these on a graph first.

You know that the slope is like the slope of a mountain, a line can be steep or shallow.

Slope = (change in y-values) / (change in x-values)

The only other piece you can look up on google "slope of perpendicular lines."

Perpendicular means they make a T-shape.

There you'll find out it's the negative reciprocal.
