Research shows universal culture patterns relate to psychology in that humanity is based on two basic themes: human nature and social structure. The cultural variations and/or interactions of these social norms present universal patterns of how each culture interprets and meets those needs. When these basic needs such as water, love, and safety are met within a specific culture, a pattern of social living emerges. For example, a wedding ceremony. Wedding ceremonies have the same outcome, the legal uniting of two people. However, the actual ceremony is based on cultural traditions, religious beliefs and social systems.
In essence, all human needs being equal, universal cultural patterns are the shared building blocks upon which those needs are grounded.
