1. Please describe the Data Link protocol function, purpose, provide examples

2. What is the network layer? What is the main purpose of network protocols, describe what role addressing plays in this protocol, describe routing. Illustrate protocol functionality by using a diagram that illustrates your understanding of the layer functionality.

3. Describe Transport (TCP) layer protocol, specifically focusing on the three areas of TCP functionality: connection establishment, flow control (sliding window approach) , connection termination (disconnect).

This set of questions is too vague and too technical to help this student unless I am given background information re: the Data Link, the network he is talking about, the protocols involved and the overall

scope of the system. Much more background and technical information is needed to help this student

understand these concepts for his computer science class.
