Not sure what a roomate of labor is. There was a Haymarket Riot in Chicago in 1886, if that is what you are referring to. I disagree with the immigrant statement. Many immigrants arrived with valuable trade skills from the Old World and were readily accepted into trade guilds and unions pretty quickly.
