number 1- we notice that our x values increase by one each time, so we need to find the pattern of the y-values. 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2 we are doubling each time (or multiplying by 2). Since it is multiplying it is an exponential function with a constant ratio of 2

number 2- adding 12 to the end of a linear equation will shift the graph up 12 units.
