Babies do not learn to fear heights until about 7-9 months of age. The visual cliff experiment shows that young infants do not fear heights. These babies will crawl over glass floors with little or no reservations. As infant's brains develop and they gain more personal experience, they begin to perceive the concept of "heights" and become more cautious when approaching the glass floor.
