Find the polar coordinates for the point that has rectangular coordinates 

(√3,−1)

Answer 1

r=sqrt(3+1)=2

and theta=arctan{-sqrt(3)/3} ... and I will let you figure out the value of theta...remember the tan is negative in quadrants 2 and 4!
