K+8 + E+ 8 =43

K+E = 43-16 = 27

K-E = 3

2K = 30

K = 15 years old now for Kevin

Erica = E = K-3 = 12 years old now for Erica

8 years from now Kevin will be 23 and Erica 20, 23+20 = 43
