asked 18dWhy is it just as important to learn the culture of the language you are learning?
Can you try to explain in at least a paragraph so I can understand better.

By learning the culture behind the language you are studying, you begin to shift your worldview as well as the framework within which you make decisions when speaking, reading, listening, or writing the language. There is no better language teacher than the very experience of going and spending time talking to people around you in a brand new part of the world. However, that's not accessible to us all, so looking to surround yourself with all things related to the culture of the Spanish language (for example), such as music, movies, books, tv shows, cuisine, etc. will give you a nice context with which to start appreciating the language you are learning!

When you are learning a language, your are not only learning words, but a worldview. And that is what defines a culture.
So, we can find some languages with many different words to define a concept that maybe in our mother tongue we only have one. Or maybe we don't even have that one. For instance, In Spanish there are two different verbs to say "to love". Or Spanish concepts like "modorra", "sobremesa", "tutear" o "friolero" don't really have an exact translation into English. Only understanding the Spanish culture, you will fully understand those concepts.
