What volume of CO2 gas is produced when 5.00 kg of pure iron metal is formed and the gas volume is measured at 10.0 atm and 450 degree C?

You know, Nicole, it might help if you indicated what sort of reaction you have in mind. Are you oxidizing elemental C out of an impure iron alloy (open hearth process, but generates CO intermediately)? Decomposing iron carbonyl, with (catalysed) oxidation of the carbon monoxide? It seems unlikely that conditions forcing the oxidation of carbon to carbon dioxide would permit the simultaneous generation of unoxidized iron.... just sayin'! -- Mr. d.
